How Long is A Go Karting Session?
Go karting sessions can range between 20 – 90 minutes. This will depend on the type of race you choose and the size of your group. For quick races, you’ll play several short laps, usually around 10 minutes each. Often, you’ll be racing with other people on the track, so this activity is ideal for couples and small groups.
For large and corporate groups, you may have the track to yourselves. You’ll race for longer and partake in qualifying matches. There will usually be a warmup, a qualifier and the main race that’ll determine the ultimate winner. A few activities will also include safety briefings, equipment set up and a fun awards ceremony as part of the duration length, so make sure to check with the individual listings.
How Do I Pick Between Indoor and Outdoor Venues?
Whether you race indoor or outdoor will largely depend on your location. Most venues have a circuit either outside or under a shelter. Most listings will clarify where the track is in the title, so make sure to have a browse before making your final decision.
Can You Drink Before Go Karting?
No, drinking before your go karting session will not be tolerated. Though you are racing around a private circuit, you are still in control of a powerful vehicle and will be putting yourself and other’s at risk if you turn up under the influence of alcohol. If a member of your group is turned away because they are found to be under the influence, you will not receive a refund.
Is There A Weight Limit For Go Karting?
Yes, there will be a weight limit for the go karts. Please check the individual listing for maximum height and weight measurements.
What Is The Age Limit For Go Karting?
Age restrictions vary depending on the activity provider. Most are around 13 + and this is to do with weight, height and driving ability. The karts are all the same size, so it’s imperative that participants can reach the pedals. However, please check under the ‘important information’ section on the individual listings.
Can I Wear Glasses Go Karting?
Of course! We don’t recommend go karting without your glasses on if you need them to see properly. You’ll be given helmets that fit over your eyes and there will be room for your glasses.
Is It Hard For First Time Racers?
Even if you’re a seasoned racer, you’ll get chance to warmup and practise before you begin the races. For first time drivers, the go karts may need some getting used to but the simple controls will see you whizzing around the track in no time.
What Should I Bring Along With Me?
You won’t need anything other than yourselves. Bags and personal belongings won’t be allowed on the karts. Instead they’ll be stashed away somewhere safe. Just make sure to wear comfortable clothes and, ideally, avoid open-toed shoes.
What Type of Events Would This Be A Good Activity For?
