If you’re throwing a hen party for your best gal, you may be wondering how you can satisfy her inner foodie. Perhaps she loves to cook or has a taste for fine dining. Perhaps she’d fancy a cookery class over a spa weekend. There are so many fun food-based experiences that are a little different from the classic hen weekend. Instead of simply opting for a nice restaurant, why not go the extra mile and arrange an activity that will get you and your friends cooking up a storm?
Chocolate Making
“Chocolate is a girl’s best friend” ... isn’t that how the saying goes? If your bestie is a total chocoholic, then a Chocolate Making experience is a fabulous choice if you want to indulge her sweet tooth. You’ll learn to make truffles to a professional standard and, of course, eat them at the end! You’ll have a master chocolatier to guide you as you get hands-on at the coco station and you’ll learn to decorate your little treasures. You’ll even get a goody bag full of sinful delights to take home with you! What’s not to love?!
Afternoon Tea Bus
One of our most loved experiences with hens is the Afternoon Tea Bus. Found touring many UK cities, this bus combines sightseeing, cakes and tea. If you’re staying in Edinburgh, London or Dublin for your hen weekend – to name just a few - then you can hop on and old regency bus and experience the delights of high tea. Treat the bride-to-be to a glorious selection of cakes, sandwiches and scones. And, if you’re feeling extra celebratory, you can even opt for a bottle of prosecco for a bubbly afternoon on the town!
Cheese Making
There’s nothing like a glass of red wine and a cheese board to nibble on as you catch up with friends. Even better, a Cheese Tasting hen party will not only give you and your ladies the opportunity to indulge on different dairy delights, but you’ll learn about the different flavours and textures while pairing them with various tipples. A professional cheese expert will tell you about how it’s made and give you a brief history on the industry before letting you sample various types. Mmm, yes please!
Cookery Masterclass
For the ultimate foodie experience during the hen weekend, why not go for a cookery masterclass? There will be no cutting corners as you and the hens dive into an afternoon of baking, frying, boiling, chopping and grilling. We have lots of fun activities depending on your food of choice.

For fans of the Great British Bake Off, why not book yourselves onto a Bake With a Legend experience? The class is led by a famous TV baker – that’s right, an actual celebrity from the show! You’ll learn to make some delicious sweet treats including jammie dodgers, chocolate eclairs or swiss rolls. There will also be plenty of fizz to go round, so try to hold in your giggles. We are sure you’d make Paul Hollywood proud!
