Don’t Stress About Money
We get it, this is easier said than done. Weddings are expensive so obviously money management is going to be high up on the agenda. However, there’s always ways to cut costs and enjoy a cheaper wedding day. Whether it’s having a tighter guest list, arranging for cheaper transport or making your own wedding decorations, you’ll be surprised at how much you can save with careful consideration.
We know that not stressing about money is easier said than done, because weddings are expensive occasions. But there’s always ways to cut a few costs and enjoy a cheaper wedding day. For example:
· Consider asking for cash contributions towards the wedding instead of traditional gifts.
· Switch out expensive flowers for locally picked wildflowers or even fake ones.
· Set up a sound system instead of hiring an expensive wedding band. Once everyone’s had a few glasses of bubbly they’ll want to put on their own playlists anyway.
Don’t Be Afraid to Ask for Help
If things do feel like they’re getting too much, then why not take some time to speak to a trusted friend or family member? Sometimes talking really is the best policy, so make sure to voice your concerns and stresses to somebody close. They’ll offer you a different perspective and may even offer to lend a helping hand!
Get Enough Sleep
When planning a wedding, it can be all too easy to stay up late sending emails and getting things sorted. But one trick to eliminate stress is to ensure you get enough shut eye. When we’re feeling sleep deprived, we tend not to think straight. When we’re properly rested, we’re able to think logically about situations and make better decisions. So, give your body and mind a break and get an early night. You can thank us later!
Nurture Yourself
It’s no use burning yourself from all that wedding planning. Make sure to give yourself a break. stuck into a cheeky bit of chocolate, enjoying a relaxing bubble bath or enjoying a spa day it's important to take some time out and have a little 'me time'.
Stop Trying to Control Other People
A lot of wedding stress can occur when you worry too much about the actions of others, but really this is pointless. We can only control what we do or say and how we react to certain situations - we can’t control what others do in life. The best thing to do is know you’ve done all the preparation for the wedding that you can and that you’re happy with your efforts.
Live In The Moment and Have Trust
One of the best ways to get rid of your pre-wedding stress is to simply surrender to your worry and let go. Have trust that everything will be just fine on the big day and say stop to the multitude of ‘what if’ thoughts running through your mind that cause you anxiety. Remember that no amount of worry can help or change the future. Have trust in yourself that should something not go to plan, you’ll be able to deal with it in the best way possible. After all, what’s the worst that could happen? The lead up to the wedding should be the most fun and exciting time of your life - you’ll want to look back on it with a real fondness, not remember being full of stress!
